How did your career in health and fitness begin?
I was always interested in health and fitness but knew nothing about it. Ten years ago I got a job at the Courthouse. Being surrounded by it all ignited my interest even more and helped me to begin figuring it out. I was a late bloomer. It is never to late. I haven’t looked back and keep learning.
What is your favorite way to exercise?
I love resistance/strength training.
Do you prefer waking up early or staying up late?
I wouldn’t say I love it but definitely waking up early is easier for me. My years of late nights are over :)
What was the last book you read?
I can’t really answer that because I am consistently reading something. So by the time you read this it won’t be the last book :)
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Travel, read, spend time with my family but in reality probably just clean and cook!!!
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I don’t watch Netflix. I do however have a lot of favorite shows, like all the NCIS, Blue Bloods, Law and Order.
What is your favorite way to spend your weekends?
Without a doubt with my family!
Where is the next place you’d like to travel to and why?
New York and France. My youngest daughter has loved and wanted to go to Paris since she was a little girl. So why not spend some time in New York on the way over. We are going to celebrate her high school graduation.
Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
I have many that I love but this one probably sums up most of them....
You’re not going to master the rest of your life in one day.
Master the day. Then keep doing that everyday.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I really enjoy getting to interact with members. In my position I don't get much opportunity so when it happens I am happy.
Do you have any advice for anyone starting a new health routine?
Keep it simple. It doesn't need to be complicated. With all the information out there it can be overwhelming. It is not a one size fits all. Find what works best for you and be consistent with it. If you learn to love the process, it will eventually just become your lifestyle.
